Motivation
DRA enables requesting and allocating specialized hardware resources (GPUs, FPGAs, network devices) through a standardized API. Growing in importance with AI/ML workloads and heterogeneous computing.
Implementation
Four resources following standard patterns. ResourceClaim is the most complex (has status subresource).
Effort: Small (each resource), Medium (total for all four)
Triage update (2026-09-02)
Promoted to Tier 1. Kubernetes 1.37 deepens the GA DRA surface with device taints/tolerations and extended-resource backing. Ensure fixtures and integration coverage exercise the v1 schemas relevant to these capabilities while keeping the four existing resource kinds in scope.
