E: Unable to locate package cuda
Thanks for the report. The installer now uses Debian's nvidia-cuda-toolkit package rather than the NVIDIA-repository-only cuda metapackage. Version 1.3.0 also recognizes Debian 12's common deb822 .sources format, verifies contrib, non-free, and non-free-firmware, refreshes APT, and checks that nvidia-cuda-toolkit is actually available before installation.
The completed fix is now on main via #7 (ab981e2). If the package is still unavailable on a Debian 12 machine, apt-cache policy nvidia-cuda-toolkit plus the active APT source configuration will show whether non-free is enabled. Closing this as completed.
Running the script gets this on Debian 12
