Fix rust-ci invalid action input 'version' in workflow #45

Description

@dzianisv

Summary

The rust-ci workflow is currently failing on main and PR branches because one of the workflow steps passes an unsupported version input to an action that only accepts tool, checksum, and fallback.

Evidence

  • failing main workflow: rust-ci run 23563742981
  • failing PR workflow example: rust-ci run 23590629567, job 68694690729
  • job annotation:
    • Unexpected input(s) 'version', valid inputs are ['tool', 'checksum', 'fallback']

Impact

This is repository-wide CI breakage, not specific to PR #42.

    Status update (2026-03-26):

    I rechecked rust-ci on the fork and upstream. The broad conclusion still holds: this is workflow drift in our fork, not something introduced by PR #42.

    Current evidence:

    • fork main rust-ci run 23563742981 still fails
    • upstream main has recent successful rust-ci runs (23604059499, 23603673149)
    • our .github/workflows/rust-ci.yml diverges heavily from upstream
    • the issue body captured one concrete symptom (Unexpected input(s) "version"), but the current main failures are broader than that and include fork-specific matrix/workflow behavior as well

    Most likely fix: resync rust-ci.yml toward upstream rather than hot-patching a single action input in the current fork workflow.
