No Follow System Theme option in the component overview on the homepage

The Toggle theme button toggle in the components overview, toggles only between light and dark, but there is no "Follow System" option in the combo overview that shows Widgets, Plots and Layouts. Is that mode not yet available in PMUI?

The toggle for the whole website however, at the top right, does toggle between 3 options.

It is not available no. The top-level toggle has nothing to do with panel-material-ui it comes from the sphinx theme we use.

Thanks for clarifying. I made an issue asking for the option to be added for components, and asking if it is feasible / practical.
