Comments only, no behaviour change. /v2/mcp-search is the Firecrawl connector in Anthropic's Claude directory, and its tool set was agreed name by name with Anthropic's review team. Nothing in the repo said so: the allowlist, the search-profile doc, the contract test, and the nginx route all described a fixed six-tool surface without saying who it was fixed for or what a change to it costs outside this repo. The surface has drifted twice against that contract, in #352 (2026-08-04, a seventh tool leaked on) and #395 (2026-09-03, a tool hidden while the listing kept advertising it), and both times the reason was only in Slack, email, and a PR body. The note now sits where the next change is made: on SEARCH_PROFILE_TOOLS and SEARCH_PROFILE_INSTRUCTIONS, on the deprecated registration in research.ts, on the SEARCH_TOOLS pin in the contract test, on the nginx location block, in a "Why this surface exists" section at the top of docs/search-profile.md, and in one README sentence. It names what to do before changing the set: update the listing in the claude.ai submission portal and tell Anthropic, through partnerships. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The new section and the allowlist note called the same Anthropic listing both "directory page" and "store page". cubic flagged it on #413. It is "directory page" throughout now, matching the nginx note and the README. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
