I have read through the paper as part of openjournals/joss-reviews#8074
I had a few formatting and phrasing suggestions prior to publication that form this pull request.
I have tried to break apart each change into separate commits on this Pull Request for you.
My remaining query would be if you provide a citation for the IBTrACS data.
