docs(site): redesign landing, navigation, and theme - #8005
Redesigns the documentation site (docs-site/). Pages, routes, locales and landing behaviour stay the same: every section, link, translation and script (platform-detected downloads, latest-release fetch, demo frame scrub) is kept. The new look is a separate stylesheet layer (src/styles/site-theme.css) loaded after custom.css.
Hero: the existing dusk photo now sits under a translucent WebGL cloud layer (CloudCanvas.astro), with pointer and scroll parallax. The nav sits inside the hero card while you are at the top. After the hero scrolls away, it docks as a rounded floating glass bar. Docs pages always use the docked bar.
Header:
Dropdowns get icon tiles, plus one highlight per panel that glides between rows.
Guides is trimmed to six links plus an "All guides" link to the landing docs map. The sidebar and docs map still list every guide.
New full-screen mobile menu with accordions.
GitHub star button: a small star burst on hover and a speed-blurred count.
Theme switching now uses a circular View Transition from the click point. It is skipped when the resolved theme would not change, under reduced motion, and in browsers without View Transitions.
Cards: feature and download cards are borderless surfaces, with one inverted focal card and a per-card glow on hover. Sections reveal on scroll, and section headings rise word by word.
Hero word roll: the slot now sizes to each word, so "Codex"/"Claude" no longer collide with the text around them. This was most visible in Korean.
Type: Wanted Sans for Hangul (replaces Pretendard in customCss) and Geist Mono for code. Both are self-hosted, so Windows never falls back to system fonts. Display headings are heavier.
Translations:
Korean landing and header copy rewritten (e.g. "GitHub에서 별 주기" → "GitHub 스타 누르기").
Awkward French, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Turkish strings fixed. This includes the broken Japanese headline word order, untranslated "provider" in Chinese, and Russian star-count plurals.
Logo: new mark as SVG, with a light variant and an inverted dark variant. An adaptive favicon.svg is added as an extra icon link. The generated PNG/ICO favicons (scripts/brand-favicons.ts) and favicon: "/favicon.ico" are unchanged.
New docs-site dependencies: wanted-sans and @fontsource-variable/geist-mono (bun.lock updated). pretendard stays in package.json but is no longer imported.
Verification
cd docs-site && bun install --frozen-lockfile && bun run build: passes. 633 pages built, and the internal-link check passes (90,133 links).
bun test tests/ci-workflows/brand-favicons.test.ts tests/ci-workflows/docs-link-targets.test.ts tests/ci-workflows/file-size-ratchet.test.ts tests/ci-workflows/repo-hygiene.test.ts: 36 pass, 0 fail.
bun run privacy:scan and bun run structure:check: pass.
Manual browser check against astro dev:
Light, dark and auto themes; the theme transition replayed at 8× slower speed.
Desktop (1280px) and mobile (375px), with no horizontal overflow.
English and Korean landing pages, plus a docs page.
Dropdowns and the gliding highlight; the docked and undocked nav; the mobile menu in both states.
No console errors.
The full bun run test suite was not run. The change is confined to docs-site/, and the tests/ files that read docs-site paths are the four listed above.
No GUI (gui/) changes, so no screenshot is required.
Checklist
Scope stays focused and avoids unrelated cleanup.
Docs or release notes were updated when needed.
Security-sensitive changes were reviewed for secrets, auth, and unsafe defaults.

Walkthrough
The docs site receives a new visual theme, WebGL2 cloud backgrounds, revised landing-page content and motion effects, and redesigned navigation menus. The changes also update fonts, logos, and favicon links.
Changes: Docs-site visual refresh

Summary
Theme and site-wide visual foundation docs-site/astro.config.mjs:30-40, 49-52, docs-site/package.json:16-22, docs-site/src/styles/site-theme.css:1-867
The site configuration changes logo assets, fonts, and icon links, and loads the new stylesheet. The stylesheet defines theme tokens, site layouts, responsive rules, and motion effects.
The new component renders animated sky or translucent overlay clouds with WebGL2. It adjusts rendering for visibility, theme, and reduced-motion settings.
Landing-page content and motion docs-site/src/components/Landing.astro:23-713
The landing page adds cloud overlays and client-side motion effects. It also revises localized copy and adds the docs-map anchor.
Navigation menus and theme controls docs-site/src/components/Header.astro:20-1255
The header updates navigation links and icons, redesigns desktop and splash-page menus, and adds menu, docking, highlight, star-count, and theme-transition behavior.

Explanation
The title "docs(site): redesign landing, navigation, and theme" matches the main change. The raw summary and PR objectives show a landing page redesign (CloudCanvas hero, reveal effects, localized copy), a navigation rework (Header.astro with floating dock, dropdowns, full-screen mobile menu), and a theme rework (site-theme.css, circular theme transition). The conventional-commit prefix fits a docs-site change. The title is specific and concise. It does not mention the typography or favicon updates, which is acceptable because it names the primary changes.

The flag write swallowed storage errors in an empty catch, which the PR

mount never listens for webglcontextlost. Without preventDefault() on that event, the browser does not restore the context, so the cloud layer stops rendering until the page reloads. Cancel the loss event, stop the animation loop, and rebuild the program, buffer, and uniforms on webglcontextrestored.

The All guides link uses t('All guides', …), but the fr map has no 'All guides' key. On French pages, t returns fr[en], which is undefined. The dropdown link renders with no text. Add the key to the fr map.

When the menu is open, Tab past its last link, or Shift-Tab out of it, moves focus to page content behind the opaque sheet. Nothing closes the menu on focus loss. Add a focusout handler that calls closeAll() when focus leaves .lp-menu.

Keep the theme transition marker until the newest transition ends.
A second theme click can start while the first 520 ms transition is still running. The first transition's finished callback then removes data-theme-vt during the second reveal. Colour transitions and the CloudCanvas easing resume inside the new snapshot. A skipped first transition also rejects its ready promise, which has no handler.

Stop the hero word roll when reduced motion is enabled.
The roll interval runs for the life of the page. It starts only if reduced motion is off at page load. replaceChildren removes the .lp-drum-spin and .lp-drum-static markup that the CSS reduced-motion fallback hides and shows. If a visitor turns on reduced motion while the page is open, the hero keeps rotating and blurring. Keep the timer handle and clear it from a prefers-reduced-motion change listener.
