LED Heart Circuit (Altium Designer)

A hardware design project featuring an electronics schematic and PCB layout for a heart-shaped blinking LED display. Built around the classic NE555 timer IC, the circuit creates a repeating "beating" flash pattern across an array of parallel LEDs.

Key Features

  • 555 Astable Oscillator: Uses an NE555DR timer chip configured as a multivibrator to control the pulse frequency and LED blinking speed.
  • 12-LED Array: Drives 12 LEDs (U2–U13) in parallel, arranged physically into a heart shape on the PCB.
  • Altium Designer Workflow: Complete end-to-end design process including schematic capture, component footprint definition, and PCB routing.
  • Low-Voltage Power Supply: Operates on a standard 4.5V DC supply via a 2-pin power header (J1).

Schematic Overview

The schematic features standard RC timing components ($R_1$, $R_3$, $R_4$, $C_1$) to dictate the output clock cycle at Pin 3 (OUT), driving current through a limiting resistor ($R_2$) to power the parallel LED array.
