macOS 27 Beta: App cannot be opened (“keyviz is damaged”) #497

Description

@Snowman833

Hi!

First of all, thank you for developing Keyviz. It looks like a great project, and I was really looking forward to using it on macOS.

Unfortunately, I cannot launch the application on macOS 27 Beta.

Environment:

  • macOS 27 Beta
  • Apple Silicon (M-series)

I tested both versions:

  • v2.1.0-beta
  • v2.1.1-beta

I downloaded them from:

  • GitHub Releases
  • the official Keyviz website

The issue is identical in every case.

When I try to launch the application, macOS displays the following message:

"keyviz is damaged and can't be opened. Move it to the Trash."

I also noticed that macOS does not show the usual "Open Anyway" button in Privacy & Security, so there is no option to bypass the warning.

To investigate further, I checked the application using Apple's command-line tools.

spctl output:

code has no resources but signature indicates they must be present

codesign --verify --deep --strict --verbose=4 output:

code has no resources but signature indicates they must be present

I also verified that:

  • the application is installed in /Applications
  • the application bundle structure is present (Contents, MacOS, Resources, Info.plist)
  • the issue is reproducible with both v2.1.0-beta and v2.1.1-beta
  • the issue occurs with downloads from both GitHub Releases and the official website

Could you please check whether this is a code-signing issue or a compatibility issue with macOS 27 Beta?

If you need any additional information, logs, or if you would like me to test an experimental build, I would be happy to help.

Thank you for your work on Keyviz!
