This is desktop app and web ui source code of PlainApp.

PlainApp is an open-source app that lets you securely manage your phone from a web browser. Access files, media, contacts, SMS, calls, and more through a simple, easy-to-use interface on your desktop.

Work on plain-core

Keep plain-core next to this repository. Run from this repository root.

Run

Duplicate .env.example file to .env.local and update the VITE_APP_API_HOST.

For an independent native instance, set both PLAINAPP_DATA_DIR and PLAINAPP_CACHE_DIR to absolute storage roots. Shared Rust validates the roots and owns their relative layout. Supplying only one root fails startup. Set PLAINAPP_PRIVATE_WEBVIEW=1 to use temporary WebView storage for the initial window and all child windows. Custom storage writes logs to standard output and the core's data directory. The isolated Desktop runner provisions disposable roots and tests the real application.
