I rebuilt your sweep (1–30
ws + the 14-emoji suffix, chat-bubble layout withflexShrink: 1) in rn-tester on a stock emulator (API 35) and tested two variants:- Your exact suffix with 🫨 — this image's emoji font has the U+1FAE8 glyph. No clipping at any width; every row renders all 14 emoji ending with 😠.
- The same suffix with 🫨 replaced by (U+1FAE9, Unicode 16) — this glyph is missing from the image's font and renders as a tofu box, simulating what an older device experiences with 🫨. Still no clipping at any width: the tofu fallback measures consistently with how it draws, across the whole sweep.
So on stock Android, neither the emoji itself nor the missing-glyph fallback reproduces the cut-off — the mechanism isn't simply "glyph absent from font". Combined with your observation that failing row lengths differ between your Huawei and Samsung devices, this points at the OEM emoji font / fallback chains on those devices producing a different advance during measurement than during drawing for that codepoint.
Two things that would help pin it down on an affected device:
- Does the clipping follow the emoji font rather than RN? E.g. does the same string in a native
TextViewin a bare Android app clip identically on the Huawei? - Does replacing 🫨 with a codepoint that's missing from that device's font (any Unicode 16 emoji) reproduce it there? If yes, it's the missing-glyph path in the OEM fallback; if only 🫨 does it, it's that glyph's entry specifically.
Happy to help with an RN-side fix if a measurable divergence in RN's measurement path is identified, but on stock images the measurement is currently consistent.

A
<Text>whose content contains the 🫨 emoji (U+1FAE8, Unicode 15.0) renders with the last emoji of the line partially or fully cut off at specific text widths on Android. iOS is unaffected. What we verified:
😂🙁☠️😠🤔🥶🫨😺👏🏻🙁😂🥶😂😠) clips; 14 keycap sequences (1️⃣…🔟) and 14 single-codepoint emoji (🔴🟠🟡…) do not. Replacing 🫨 with another emoji in the failing sequence stops the clipping.<Text>.Steps to reproduce
App.tsxchanged. It renders a sweep of 1–40 letters + a 14-emoji suffix in several layouts (chat bubble, fixed width, full width) plus a no-emoji control section, with the three suffix constants for comparison.yarn install && yarn androidon an affected device.Expected: the trailing emoji is fully visible (as on iOS, and as with sequences without 🫨). So 😠 in the end should be visible
Actual: at specific widths the last emoji of the line is cut off. Screenshot attached.
With colors and numbers emojis all fine. Issue just when 🫨 in list. So 😠 in the end not visible
