[bug] Deep Scan not finding savegames inside wine prefixes

What did you expect to happen?

I have savegames in a folder like the following:
/var/mnt/XXXX/Heroic/Alone In The Dark (2023)/

I would have expected a deep scan to find them.

What actually happened?

Deep scan did not find them. I had to add them manually. Then it worked.

Reproduction steps

1. Install a wine prefix in a custom folder
2. Install the mentioned game
3. Deep scan, not found

Im place you like a co-autor, i can remove it if you want, the responsibility of the commit remains mine.

Im need wait to apply more changes, at the moment i added more telemetry and fixed some paths, i dont move anything about deep scan at the moment.

For now i will continue reviewing this to change detection, before the release im gonna mark this issue like "closing" like completed but waiting to verification.

I have only one change left, I decided to improve the manual track, because users track the root folders, I will simply add notices or something.

Maybe something will occur to me while I create hoard-mobile but for now it will stay that way.

Hey, I'm the one who wrote on reddit,

So basically what Im experiencing is It doesnt autodetect the save or save location from my other machine, probably because of the different ID that steam assigns when adding via “non-steam game”

Here's the save location of the game on both of my machines:

Machine 1: /home/bazzite/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/3663664929/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Townfall/Saved/SaveGames/Savegame.sav

Machine 2: /home/bazzite/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/3402144833/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Townfall/Saved/SaveGames/SaveGame.sav

Notice the 3663664929 and 3402144833 those are the ID that steam assigns when adding games via non-steam game in steam

Are you on Hoard Cloud or self-hosted, and which version on each machine? 1.2.0"latest"?

On machine 1, did Hoard detect Townfall by itself, or did you add the folder manually? What name does the game show in Hoard?

On machine 2, does Townfall appear at all (even as "not linked"), or nothing?

Is the file really Savegame.sav on one machine and SaveGame.sav on the other, or was that a typo? On Linux those are two different files.

Running self-hosted, and both latest.

• Both detected townfall by default
• Both machine can see the backed-up save from each machine

yes, most likely. I didn't touch the save files at all so most likely both was generated by the game.

@jasjamjos Without context i can say you:
In linux Savegame.sav != SaveGame.sav
Thats why the sync dont work, hoard just syncthing it without rename it.
