my vscode was slowed to almost a halt. my clangd plugin took like 20 seconds to give me suggestions and everything else was in general really slow. I found out about the source of the lag when, in between the lag spikes, I saw the trailing spaces highlight flicker through all the whitespace (even non trailing ones) and only when it stopped did my clangd finally gave me results. I uninstalled this extension and the lag pretty much ceased to exist
