I've recently added asynchronous support to this library, which should significantly improve performance for applications that need to handle multiple concurrent requests or integrate with async frameworks like FastAPI or aiohttp.
To use the async functionality, you'll need to install the library with the async extras. You can do this by running:
pip install tweepy[async]
This will install the base tweepy package along with the additional dependencies required for async operations (such as aiohttp or other async-compatible libraries).
If you've already installed tweepy without the async extras, you can upgrade your installation with:
pip install --upgrade tweepy[async]
Once installed, you'll be able to use the async client and take advantage of non-blocking API calls. Please refer to the documentation for examples on how to use the async features.
