I've been using VGTMPEG to extract individual episodes from various DVDs that combine them into one massive VOB sequence. All of the expected elements are preserved, technically including the subtitles, just not the color palette and position/sizing information from the IFO. This leads to all black subtitles on some players (MPC) and causes problems when trying to import the subtitles in other utilities like MKVToolnix.
The command I'm using is as follows:
vgtmpeg.exe -fflags +genpts -probesize 101M -analyzeduration 150M -i "dvd://H:\DVD Images\MASHS1D1?title=1" -c copy -map 0:a -map 0:v -map 0:s? -dn temp.mkv
The path specified contains an extracted, decrypted set of files from the VIDEO_TS folder of a DVD.
I have tried manually specifying the palette using the "-palette" tag, as well as the "-ifo_palette" tag and a reference to the appropriate IFO. Neither have worked.
