Cause: when Diff was started from the Remote Explorer, VS Code passes the clicked item as the first argument, but the command expected it as the second one. The remote item was then treated as a local file without a path, which produced The "to" argument must be of type string. Received undefined.
Fixed in 51cc949: the remote item is recognised in both positions, and the matching local file is resolved with the configured local folder (context / localPath). Diff from a local file shows a clear message instead of crashing when no file is selected.
This will ship in 1.3.1. If you still get the error after updating, please reopen this issue and mention where you started the diff from (Remote Explorer, editor, or Explorer).
