Fix missing-provider scans and sampled savings labels - #35
Conversation
Why: Missing provider roots crashed scans, while savings output paired full discovery counts with one sampled source's byte totals.\n\nWhat: Skip absent stores at the shared discovery boundary and label copy-proof scope, sampled sources, and proof-only bytes in human and JSON output.\n\nImpact: Read-only scans work on partially installed provider sets and savings reports no longer imply whole-store estimates.
Why: The integration script could not discover tests, leaving real CLI boundaries uncovered.\n\nWhat: Add a dedicated Vitest integration config and a temporary-HOME CLI test for missing stores, sampled output, and untouched source bytes.\n\nImpact: CI can enforce both regressions without reading or modifying real session directories.

📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe CLI now treats missing provider stores as empty, reports sampled evidence separately from discovered sessions, updates human-readable savings output, and adds integration coverage for read-only scan and check behavior. ChangesDiscovery and evidence reporting
Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~20 minutes Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to The PR makes missing provider roots skippable and clarifies sampled savings output, but a provider store removed during discovery can still cause a scan error instead of being treated as absent. This is a bounded reliability risk requiring owner follow-up; the changed exported contracts also need documentation. 🚥 Pre-merge checks | ✅ 5✅ Passed checks (5 passed)

Suggestion: The existence check and discovery are separate filesystem operations, so a provider root can be removed or become inaccessible after providerStoreExists returns true. In that case provider.discover(store) propagates an ENOENT/access error and can still fail the entire scan, defeating the new absent-store behavior. Handle disappearance during discovery as an empty result, or make the provider discovery operation itself tolerate ENOENT. [race condition]

Fixed in c1df9f4 with a post-failure existence check and regression coverage for both disappearance and genuine provider errors.

Suggestion: The report only creates an entry after an eligible session has been selected, so sampledSources: 1 is never emitted for providers whose discovered sessions are all oversized. Those providers disappear from the report entirely, causing the discovered and sample totals to omit sessions that were actually found. Preserve a provider-level discovery record, including zero sampled sources, or return discovery counts separately from successful proof entries. [incomplete implementation]

Fixed in c1df9f4. Oversized-only providers now retain a discovery entry with sampledSources: 0; human output renders proof measurements as unavailable instead of dropping their session counts.
Why: Review identified that stores could disappear after the existence check and oversized-only providers vanished from discovered totals.\n\nWhat: Recheck failed discoveries before suppressing ENOENT-like removal, preserve genuine errors, retain zero-sample discovery entries, and document the evidence scope.\n\nImpact: All-provider proof reports remain accurate across filesystem races and sampling limits.

Handle missing and transiently removed provider stores in scans and make sampled-proof scope explicit in savings/check output.
